Learn to Be Sneaky When Point Sparring
Learning to be sneaky is everything in point fighting. You might not be the fastest or strongest, but you can learn to be sneaky. You can learn to teach your opponent what to do, so that you can do the opposite.

    Breaking is a crowd pleaser at demos. It also serves as a “confidence test” for both beginner and advanced. While it’s not a necessary part of martial arts training… it’s pretty fun!

      I agree. I do think it gives you pretty good feedback on whether or not you are doing the technique correctly, but I feel like it doesn’t have to be a requirement for some programs

      @@scarred10 I disagree. One can switch training applications based on the type of sparring. A well-rounded martial artist is what we should all strive to become. Point sparring has always been something I’m good at, but I also train kickboxing, BJJ, Krav, and other traditional striking arts. Also, the difference between touching and dropping someone is about 2.5 inches.

    • @shlomobauer6355
      @shlomobauer6355 Рік тому

      you need to take it step by step - and stretch, daily. Whereas someone 16 years old can do this form quite nicely after just a month or so of practice - it will take you longer, several months. So, what you need to focus on is being smooth and remember, slow is smooth and smooth is fast - so focus first on being smooth.

    Some great videos for sparring but Poomsae has many faults. I have lots of things working on myself and as doing tkd for while know some of them are due to changes in technique of the years. Lots have things have changed, back stance is half foot shorter than front stance and on right side you moved foot into longer stance from front to back? Agree that front stance is too wide. First block should be shoulder height. Sparring is more your forte, you are super fast. Check out some of the latest world champs for up to date changes on Poomsae.
